Nearly 12 years back we had a humble beginning from one of corner of City of Temples, Jammu. In the Past Nine Years we have been able to hold 175 shows/ activities, children theatre festivals, theatre festivals for young , organize Theatre -in- education workshops for slums, Rural and Urban children as well, theatre seminars, experiments plays such as Dramatize of Dogri poetry soliloquies of world classic plays. Dramatize of Novel, Short Stories etc.Beside, nearly 150 shows of some eminent plays such as Andher Nagri , Mrichkatikam (Dogri) , Mattvilas (Dogri) , Bhagwatjukiam (Dogri), Andha Yug ( Dogri ) , Urubangam , Saniya Bhaye Kotwal , Teesvin Shatabdhi, King Odeipus (Dogri), Singhasan Khali Hai, Ajnabi (Dogri) An Accidental Death and the like have been staged in State and outside of the State in National and State Theatre Festival. Many of these shows have been stages with the help of amateur artist including children and with active support of J&K Academy of Art , Culture and Languages, Jammu , North Zone, Culture Center Patiala, Department of Education and Culture and Sangeet Natak Akademi, New Delhi. Our inspiration , in dedicating ourselves to the cause of theatre, has all these years been (and is always going to be) the will to propagate theatre amongst those of our countrymen who, baffled with the mind -boggling dazzle of the celluloid world and caught in the more recent onslaught of the Satellite Television , have been gradually weekend away from the great traditions of Indian Theatre. With this aim in view of the efforts shall always be directed to holding of Theatre Camps / Workshops, organizing street plays particularly in our relatively rural and slum areas, providing fiscal support to the needy/budding artists , creating theatre consciousness and audience in places where this art has almost almost extinct. |
