DIRECTOR

Dr. Sudhir Mahajan   done  his Doctorate of  Philosophy in  Hindi  Drama and theatre under the guidance of  Dr. O. P.  Diwedi   from  Jammu  University.  He  has  already done  his post  graduation  in  Indian  Theatre  in  year  1993,  under the Chairmanship of  Prof. Mohan Maharishi  from Chandigarh  Univ.,  Master  of   Philosophy  in Hindi  and  Master  of   Education  from  Jammu  University  and  Post   Graduation  in Journalism  from  Bhartya Vidya  Bhawan.

Dr. Mahajan   awarded  Senior  Fellowship  in  Theatre  from Ministry of  Culture   for Educating Gujjar and Bakerwals, Tribes  of  J&K through  theatre. Dr. Mahajan   has conducted 25 theatre  workshops with children and  young  artists  at  Jammu.  Written and Adapted  more  than 16 plays in Dogri for T.V. and Stage. His  major productions were stage in prestigious  National  Theatre  Festivals  Bharat -Rang  Mahoutsav  New Delhi Sangeet Natak Academy, New Delhi,  All  India  Shobha Shakti Natya Samaroh at Chandigarh etc.Acted and Directed 70 plays and acquired the certificates of  merits  awarded with best  actor and best Director in  Annual  Drama Festival  by  J&K Academy  of  Art, Culture and Languages 1998  and 2001 and also awarded  Best Director  by  All  India  Shoba Shakti  Natya  Samaroh  at  Chandigarh  in  1995.  Dr. Mahajan   is  founder   member of Rang- Yatra  organized  by  National  School  of Drama Repertory Co.  New  Delhi in 1991 and assisted Mr. Bansi Koul and Dolly Ahuluwalia, Dr. Mahajan has also been  felicitated  by  many  educational  and   social   institution of  the State for  his  outstanding contribution in the field of theatre. Dr. Mahajan   has  also  acted  in  a  number of serials,  including   theatre plays for Jammu,  Srinagar,  Kashmir and DD-1 and other channels .Presently,  He  is Director of  'Samooh Theatre'  and working with Rural , Urban, Slums and Tribal children  and  young as well,  to  educate  them through theatre and search of new theatre language, technique and  Methodology in Drama and theatre for the  socio-cultural Development  of  the  Nation. Besides, he is doing his further research  work  in the field  of  Indian  Drama and  theatre  for  his  D.lit.work
